Carb Cycling and 1% fat milk or almond milk?
Re: Carb Cycling
I really hate protein powder with water... is it murder to drink milk while carb cycling? 1% milk one serving a day for protein is 13-15g carbs I do not know about almond milk yet, but is milk just a no go when carb cycling?
I don't carb cycle, however I know from experience that almond milk mixed with protein is the bees knees. Also, if you buy silk UNSWEETENED almond milk, it has no sugar and only 30 calories. It also has more calcium than dairy.
@laurwyx3 Ok thanks. Trying it and I want to get it right haha
Either is fine. 1% milk or almond milk can be fit into your calories which is the main factor.
Almond milk may settle easier being a lot less in lactose same with Cashew milk. So in the end it could be any of the ones you want to use
Allot the proper calories and macros and you are good to go.
as far as carb cycling that is personal preference, as long as the caloric deficit is met for your goal (dieting) that is what matters most.
good info here:
@Nicholas-Ruble no problem buddy! Like @TheSolution said, either one would be okay so I guess it's more of a personal preference kind of thing! I personally like almond milk because its creamier, skim milk is just cloudy water in my opinion hahaha
Why not have whole milk on a lower carb day and unsweetened almond milk on a higher carb day? As long as you're hitting your macros, or staying within your calorie goal it doesn't really matter how you do it.
@m.kfitt Bingo... you can use both to your advantage. I personally drink almond/cashew because its lower in lactose and settles much easier. I just add a few more ice cubes to make a smoothie :)
@TheSolution Thanks for the articles, they are very informative. Thanks everyone
